Probiotics and supplements

Probiotics such as non-digestible oligosaccharides are believed to enhance the occurrence time for certain beneficial micro organisms. Probiotics, which have the potential beneficial effect on the body, have to survive the time while they are going through the intestinal tract, attach to the intestinal cells and produce anti-bacterial substances against pathogenic micro organisms. In all modern nutrition complexes they are included but you are to be very selective if you buy supplements or vitamin complexes online and check the companies’ reviews about the stuff they sell.

There are some preliminary studies that probiotic micro organisms may inhibit the colonization and activity of H. pylori. Certain probiotics have been shown to help in cases of inflammatory bowel disease such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease. They also may improve cases of chronic constipation and possibly through reduction of the bowel pH. Clostridium difficile colitis has been alleviated with supplementation of certain probiotics. Lactic acid bacteria may reduce symptoms of lactose intolerance. According to the latest research conducted by Women’s Health Magazine and Women’s Imaging Center - they were found to be helpful in reducing the symptoms of food allergies. The consumption of probiotics was found to be helpful in cases of yeast infection and bacterial vaginosis in female patients. There is some data that probiotics may help to control blood pressure and lower cholesterol.

Though more studies and research is going on and needed in this field. :)
