Many diet pills contain the active ingredient Ephedrine, which is often revered to as ‘ephedra’, or ‘Ma Huang’. It is an alkaloid substance, derived from the leaves of the Gnetaceae plant family, including Ephededra equisetina, which are indigenous to South East Asia.

Ephredrine is a amphetamine-like compound, which acts as a powerful stimulant that can cause heart arrhythmias (rapid or irregular heartbeats) and raise blood pressure. It also dilutes bronchial muscles and can cause gastrointestinal problems. Ephredrine is well documented for causing a number of psychological side effects as well, including insomnia, depression and even psychosis. These effects can be amplified by caffeine, and can result in an over stimulation of the central nervous system.

The benefits for weight loss claimed by Ephedra diet pills producers of this substance is that is raises metabolism, meaning you should be able to burn fat faster, and is also thought to suppress appetite. Ephredrine achieves this raised metabolism by stimulating the thyroid gland, and is often recommended to be taken before physical activity, as it can give the feeling of a boost of energy to help you exercise for longer. Most manufacturers include explicate instructions with their ephredrine based products, advising that the product is not used for more than a 4 week period without a break, and including a warning of all the known possible side effects.

Product instructions also usually include advice about not drinking caffeine and alcohol with the product, and it is usually age restricted for sale to over 18 year olds only. Manufacturers insist that if product instructions are followed, and the drug is taken responsibly than it can be an effective way to help people lose weight. So follow the instructions before using ephedra pills. Cheap vasopro ephedrine is available on online stores and are affordable than brandable products.

Obesity treatment and losing weight has never been easy. But with the advent of Xenical, losing weight is no more a tedious task.

Most weight loss pills work as “appetite suppressants” and work in brain to produce the feeling of fullness and reduce the urge to eat more and help in attaining weight loss. Xenical Orlistat, on the other hand, is a “fat inhibitor”. It works in digestive system of the body. There are certain enzymes called “lipases” in digestive system of the body which help in breaking down the fat that we eat so that our body can absorb it. Xenical attaches itself to these “lipases” and prevents absorption of fat in the body.

Simply blocking fat absorption of fat may prevent you from gaining more weight. Xenical (orlistat), blocks fat absorption in the large intestine. Xenical contains Orlistat as active ingredient which bonds itself with enzymes in digestive system of the body and keeps them from allowing the fat to be absorbed into your body. As a result, the fat is expelled when you have a bowel movement instead of being absorbed by your body. Xenical only blocks about one-third of the fat you consume from being absorbed into your body as some fat is necessary for healthy living.
Xenical is FDA approved and approved for sale in UK and other European countries. You can also buy Xenical online through some online pharmacy by following online consultation procedure, hence you need not visit doctor for face to face consultation. Buy you should not buy Xenical without proper consultation with your GP. Xenical is a prescription medication and should be taken only after proper consultation and prescription from registered medical practitioner. Xenical has been clinically tested and proven to work for obesity treatment.

Xenical weight loss pills are best suited to patients who have BMI (Body Mass Index) of more than 30. There are few side effects attributed to the use of Xenical. Apart from the change in bowel movement, because of decreased fat absorption, people taking orlistat may experience unpleasant side effects, including abdominal pain, excessive gas, bloating and diarrhea. Eating a low-fat diet limits the risk of these potential side effects. Xenical is a welcome change for anyone looking for weight loss.

There is a notion in the society that generic drugs are bad and only branded drugs are good. This is true in most of the situations but not always. There are many top companies that produce generic drugs as well as the other variant.

The generic brand is also known as non-prescription drugs while the others are prescription drugs which require prescription from a qualified medical practitioner. Your pharmacist will not give you a prescription drug without a prescription. In such cases, non-prescription drugs comes under action. But care should be taken that you know about the effects and side-effects of these drugs.

Another advantage of generic drugs is they are cheaper than the main one. For e.g. generic cialis is much cheaper than the original Cialis from Eli Lilly company. Generic drugs are produced by small and big companies, so its always good to buy the product from a reliable company. Remember, health is more important than your money.

Ask your doctor if you are not sure what to do.

There are many who have a sound sleep, but there is also another group that keep tossing on the bed because of sleep deprivation. Inadequate sleep make the man feel fatigue and tired the next day and in turn leads to sleep loss. So that’s a vicious cycle. Inadequate sleep can also lead to psychological disturbances. So a timely treatment is necessary when you suffer from Insomnia.

There are various causes of insomnia and the treatment depends on the cause. Most common cause is mental stress and worries. You can do medication to relieve stress. You can also try natural sleep aids like Melatonin, Valerian, Relora, sleep mast, music etc. if the condition is mild. If the sleep deprivation is because of someone’s snoring, you can use earplugs as sleep aid snoring.

But if still the problem continues, better consult a physcian or psychiatrist. It’s treatable, so don’t worry.

Alopecia refers to loss of hair (usually from the scalp) - synonym to baldness. Alopecia sometimes also include loss of hairs from other body parts like axilla, groin etc - for e.g. in case of Alopecia Totalis.

Alopecia is a medical terminology for Hair loss. It can be a slowly worsening condition or can be an acute one (as in metformin treatment for PCOD ). There are various causes of hair loss like

Nutrional changes

Hormonal disturbances

ADR of various drugs especially Chemotherapy drugs

Infection of scalp e.g. dermatitis

Inherited disorder

RadioTherapy

Treatment Modalities for Alopecia
Depending on the cause, your doctor will advise you a treatment :

- Antifungal/Antibacterial drugs for scalp infection

- Nutritional supplements

- Local application of Minoxidil, Finasteride etc.

- Hair Transplant

- Hair Wig

Look at this hair transplant video - I got it when I was on a meeting for hair transplant Florida. So proper investigations and evaluation is necessary for proper treatment. Consult a dermatologist or Trichologist if you are suffering from alopecia.

Contact lenses are becoming popular among younger generation as compared to spectacles. The reason being lenses offer better cosmesis and visual field. But you need extra care in case of lenses than specs. Due to continued innovation, varied types of lenses are available in the market and for varied purpose. They can be divided in various groups according to function, material used, wear time, design etc.

Following are different types of contact lenses in general:

Soft Contact Lenses - They are flexible lenses made of soft plastics and allow easy flow of oxygen to cornear. They are more comfortable to wear and adjust than rigid lenses. New types of soft lenses include silicone hydrogel for more oxygen flow and comfort and that makes them most popular lenses. But they are costlier and have short life span

Rigid Gas Permeable Contact Lenses - Also known as RGPs, they are more durable and offer better vision, are less expensive and last longer as they don’t tear. They might be uncomfortable initially.

Disposable Contact Lenses - As compared to soft contact lenses which can be used repeatedly, disposable contact lenses are to be used once and then discarded. So a new pair is required each day. Useful in case of replacement schedule.

Extended Wear Contact Lenses - They can be worn overnight or for few days continuously ranging from few days to 30 days. Though not very popular.

Colored Contact lenses - Used for cosmetic purposes but they obstruct your vision. Comes in colors like green, blue, brown etc. and often called as non-prescription contact lenses.

I heard about EDTA chelation therapy often. I was not knowing about it previously but then I read about it on internet and found that it is used in the treatment of coronary artery diseases. (CAD)

Now what is EDTA chelation Therapy. EDTA is a short form of Ethyelene Diamine tetra Acetate and is an artificial amino acid. EDTA combines with heavy metals and chelates them so a compound is formed which is harmless and gets removed from the body via urine. It is commonly used for the treatment of heavy metal poisioning like lead and mercury.

Coronary Artery Disease is a chronic condition which occurs due to development of plaque in the walls of arteries supplying blood to heart. This plaque is made of cholesterol, fat, calcium etc. Now it is said that EDTA combines with this calcium and removes them and then the plaque gets dissolved. This therapy is not worldwide prevalant still.

A large clinical trial is being conducted for the effects of EDTA chelation therapy for coronary artery disease by NIH along with Nation center for complementary and alternative medicine (NCCAM) and the Nation Heart, Lung, and blood institute (NHLBI). This study will involve over 2.3k patients and will last for around 5 years. There will be double blind trial using EDTA and placebo. Lets see the results.

So consult with your doctor regarding this.

This is the most common question asked by any Undergraduate MBBS student after completing his graduation. What’s next and which Postgraduate branch to choose ?

The branch depends all on your interest in the particular field. Whether you want to go in surgical or medical side.. Whether you want to go for clinical or non-clinical side..

You will require to do little research and find out which branch has future potential.

Also it depends on where are you going to practice - which speciality is missing in your area - so go for it to create a monopoly.

Last but not the least, it is not in our hands to choose the dream seat unless you are a top ranker. So atleast we should have to go for any branch which we are getting after continuous effort. Best of luck
